If you live inside the gates, you already know August at Geneva National isn't one thing. There's the calendar you see on the way to the Pro Shop, and there's the calendar the Lodge is running for the rest of Lake Geneva. Both are printed, both are dense, and they overlap in ways that decide whether your Saturday tee time actually holds.
The trick this month is reading them together. A resident who plans against only one of them ends up either fighting for a cart on a tournament morning or missing the last outdoor movie of the summer because they thought the lawn was closed for a wedding.
Two calendars, one address
The property runs on two overlapping programs. The Members' Club side is stacked with tournaments and guest days between the second and third weeks of August. The Destination Geneva National side is running its public-facing summer program right alongside, with six onsite restaurants, including the award-winning Hunt Club Steakhouse and Crafted Italia, two saltwater pools, kayaking on Lake Como, and the outdoor putting course called the Dance Floor. If you own here, you have quiet access to both. What follows is how they line up.
The tournament week that reshapes the middle of the month
The Members' Club calendar concentrates almost every meaningful August event into a twelve-day stretch. If you golf here casually or if guests are asking to be squeezed onto a course this month, this is the window to plan around.

If you're a member, booking the Palmer or Trevino on the 15th is not going to happen easily. If you're a homeowner who plays the public side, the same weekend is the one to keep for the pool or the lake.
Worth pricing against: peak-season public tee times at Geneva National in 2026 run $215 for 18 holes daily through October 4. Members skip that math entirely for unlimited play on the rotating private course, which is why tournament weekends fill so fast. It's also why the pace of play sharpens noticeably in August — the club's stated target is four hours and twenty minutes for eighteen with a foursome, and rangers are empowered to enforce it.
Monday nights belong to Turf Kitchen + Tap
The single most underused fixture on the property in August is trivia. Trivia Night at Turf Kitchen + Tap runs every Monday at 6 p.m., and it's the one weekly thing on the calendar that isn't chasing a weekend crowd. Mondays are the slow day at the Lodge, the pool is quieter, and the kitchen isn't turning tables at wedding pace.
A rotation worth knowing for the rest of the month, all on-property:
- Turf Kitchen + Tap on Monday for trivia and a lighter menu
- Paloma Cantina for outdoor drinks; it's the newest thing on the property and pitched as Lake Geneva's newest outdoor hotspot
- Crafted Italia for a mid-week dinner that doesn't require dressing up
- Hunt Club Steakhouse when you have a reason, or a guest
The point of the rotation is that residents can eat at the Lodge four different ways in a week without ever repeating the room. Visitors staying for a weekend don't get that.
The last movie on the lawn is Aug 28
The Summer Movie Series closes out this month, and it's the kind of event that quietly rewards owners because the seating is soft, the parking is your own driveway, and nobody is fighting for a spot. The series is sponsored by FORM Wealth and the August 28 selection is Mrs. Doubtfire, following June's Ferris Bueller and July's Back to the Future. The screenings alternate between the Lodge's outdoor lawn and the Practice Range, which is worth checking before you walk over with chairs.
This is also the last free outdoor event on property before Labor Day and the shoulder-season shift. If you have out-of-town family in for the Venetian Fest weekend the week before, this is the low-key Friday you keep for yourselves.
The two weekends the outside world shows up
Two off-property events pull traffic into the greater Lake Geneva area during exactly the days the Members' Club calendar is at its peak. Knowing when they land matters, because Highway 50 and the downtown grid get slow.
- Aug 8–9: The 46th Art in the Park, downtown
- Aug 19–23: The 64th Venetian Festival, closing with the Aug 23 fireworks
- Aug 23: The Venetian Fest Cocktail Cruise from the Riviera Docks, boat departs 7:30 p.m., with the lighted boat parade and fireworks
If you look at those dates against the Club Championship (Aug 14–16) and Ladies' Guest Day (Aug 19), you can see the collision. The one day where both calendars stack hardest is Aug 19, which is a Wednesday guest-day at the Members' Club and the opening night of Venetian Fest downtown. Plan the grocery run for Tuesday.
The quieter default most owners forget
The property is a resort, and the resort amenities are open to residents in ways that vacation renters have to pay in nightly rate to access. Three things are worth reintroducing to your routine this month:
The Lake Como marina, sitting at the bottom of the property, is a legitimate second lake. The Lodge's marina gives access to Lake Como for renting paddleboards and kayaks or launching your own boat, and it's a different water experience than Geneva Lake, quieter and slower and better suited to a Tuesday morning than a weekend.
The Dance Floor, the outdoor putting course, is the underused amenity for anyone with kids or grandkids visiting. It's a short-form loop that works as an after-dinner activity when the main courses are booked out for a tournament.
And the e-bikes. Aventon e-bikes are available at the front desk with five levels of pedal assist and a throttle. They're the fastest way to get from the residential side to the Lodge on a night when parking near the veranda is a scrum.
A resident's plan for the next four weeks
If you want a working outline of the month, this is how the two calendars actually resolve:
- Aug 3–7: Play early in the week before Club Championship traffic. Reserve the Lodge dining room for a Wednesday dinner while the pace is normal.
- Aug 8–9: Art in the Park runs downtown; use the day for the Lake Como marina or the Dance Floor instead of driving into town.
- Aug 10 (Monday): Trivia at Turf Kitchen + Tap. Lightest night of the week on the property.
- Aug 14–16: Club Championship weekend. If you play the public side, this is the pool weekend. If you're a member competing, block the dining reservations early because the clubhouse fills.
- Aug 19–23: Venetian Fest is downtown. National Days Ladies' Guest Day is on the 19th at the club. Cocktail cruise from the Riviera Docks on the 23rd if you want the fireworks off the water instead of from the shore.
- Aug 28: Mrs. Doubtfire on the lawn. Bring your own chairs. End of series.
